Respect for Life

The Respect Life Ministry sponsors a nine-month Spiritual Adoption Program that culminates in a church-wide baby shower for needy families. We participate in the spring and autumn 40 Days For Life prayer campaigns at Planned Parenthood, and we join together to watch pro-life movies at the local movie theater. The Respect Life Ministry members promote Spiritual Bouquets for our religious and visit our former priest, Fr. Kirk, in his assisted living facility. We volunteer at the Williamson County Fair at the TN Right To Life Booth, and assist in the setting up of the Abortion Awareness Crosses at the church. We welcome all ideas! We would love to have you join us in standing up for all life-from conception to natural death!

Spiritual Adoption Program: Everyone loves the beauty and innocence of a baby.  As an expression of that love, Catholic Church of the Nativity announces an adoption program for young and old alike.

The late Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen encouraged the spiritual adoption of an unborn child. This is done by praying that one particular but unknown child’s life be spared abortion and be allowed to continue to live. Not all newly conceived babies are allowed to be born. In fact, approximately 3,000 babies in the United States lose their lives to abortion each day.

You may “adopt” a child individually or as a family by signing up during the weekends of January 22/23 and 29/30.  You will be asked to name the child for whom you will be praying, thereby giving the baby the humanity he or she deserves.  You will be asked to pray for your unborn child and for all unborn children, for the power of prayer is great.

You will receive monthly reports through the parish bulletin describing your baby’s development and your child will be born in September culminating with a parish-wide baby shower. During your earthly life this spiritually adopted child of yours is known only to God, but in the world to come it is hoped that you will meet the child whose life was spared by your prayers and spend eternal happiness with them.-Respect Life Ministry
