Respect for Life

"You are called to stand up for life! To respect and defend the mystery of life always and everywhere, including the lives of unborn babies, giving real help and encouragement to mothers in difficult situations. You are called to work and pray against abortion.” – St. John Paul II

The Respect Life Group at Church of the Nativity is a new ministry and our primary goal is education. All planning for the committee is done by email and text. Please join us in standing up for life!

This past spring we staffed a  table at church, presented to the teens, sponsored a church-wide movie of , and planned a potluck/Gosnell movie night. Future plans include volunteering at the Respect for Life table at the Williamson County Fair and a potluck/Unplanned movie night. We welcome further ideas!

Spiritual Adoption Program: Everyone loves the beauty and innocence of a baby.  As an expression of that love, Catholic Church of the Nativity announces an adoption program for young and old alike.

The late Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen encouraged the spiritual adoption of an unborn child. This is done by praying that one particular but unknown child’s life be spared abortion and be allowed to continue to live. Not all newly conceived babies are allowed to be born. In fact, approximately 3,000 babies in the United States lose their lives to abortion each day.

You may “adopt” a child individually or as a family by signing up during the weekends of January 22/23 and 29/30.  You will be asked to name the child for whom you will be praying, thereby giving the baby the humanity he or she deserves.  You will be asked to pray for your unborn child and for all unborn children, for the power of prayer is great.

You will receive monthly reports through the parish bulletin describing your baby’s development and your child will be born in September culminating with a parish-wide baby shower. During your earthly life this spiritually adopted child of yours is known only to God, but in the world to come it is hoped that you will meet the child whose life was spared by your prayers and spend eternal happiness with them.-Respect Life Ministry
