Adult Faith Enrichment 2023/24
Jesus was in a small group. Now you can be, too.
As we anticipate a new season approaching, we invite our adult parishioners to consider getting on a path toward authentic discipleship in Jesus. How? By journeying with fellow parishioners in a small faith-sharing group this fall. No scripture expertise or academic degrees needed – just a genuine desire to learn about the roots of our faith and to come to know the Person of Jesus. And this will take place in a comfortable, sociable setting right here at the church. Starting in late August, Nativity will offer small group faith enrichment opportunities every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Each small group will have a facilitator (discussion leader) and each program is presented using compelling videos and an accompanying workbook. Our offerings include:
Bible Timeline
St. Jerome once said, “Ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ.”
If you are like most people, you hear the Word of God at Mass once per week. It may seem disjointed, and no matter how many times you hear the Bible stories, you don’t get a real sense of what is going on. You may have tried to read the Bible cover-to-cover, but by the time you get past Genesis and Exodus, you are confused or overwhelmed.
The Bible Timeline is your solution. Jeff Cavins has set up this Bible study to help everyone understand the central theme of the Bible, to lay out the Bible chronologically into 12 periods, to point out the 14 narrative books, explain where the other 59 books fit in and how to make sense of them, and how the New Testament is hidden in the Old, and the Old Testament is fulfilled in the New.
If you are ready to receive God’s great gift of His Word, sign up for “The Bible Timeline”, a 24 week course to help you understand the mystery of Salvation History .

The Prophets
Prophets: Messengers of God’s Mercy
If we consider that God is the Divine Bridegroom and the Church is his Bride, then the prophets can be seen as “spiritual marriage counselors.” They afflict the comfortable and comfort the afflicted, calling us to return to our covenant relationship with God. They urge us to repentance, warn us of the dangers of sin, and announce the blessings of faithfulness. Their prophetic words speak to us even today, as they draw us closer to our heavenly Bridegroom.
The Catholic Church of the Nativity will begin a ten-week Bible study Prophets: Messengers of God’s Mercy in September (Please pick up a flyer & registration form in the Narthex). Participants will meet every week to view an engaging video presentation followed by a time of lively group discussion and fellowship. For more information contact Brenda Jasinski @ 262-470-6279.
