Wisdom: God's Vision for Life

A Lenten Faith Journey

An abundance of wisdom can be found in Scripture and Catholic tradition, although it can often be challenging to apply it to our lives. In this eight-week video-based study, hosted by Jeff Cavins and Thomas Smith, we will examine biblical wisdom as it relates to daily life. Drawing on the wisdom literature of the Bible—Proverbs, Wisdom, Sirach, and Ecclesiastes—this study will guide us in actively seeking guidance and increasing inner peace as we navigate our daily lives.

Sessions will be on Thursday afternoons, 2:30-3:45 PM, starting February 19 and concluding on April 16.

Church History

Beginning February 9th
Mondays @10am and Thursdays @7pm

We will look at the first 250 years of the Church. By examining the words and lives of the early Church fathers( and a few mothers), we can learn the truth of the early Church, and recognize when someone is leading us astray about our Catholic heritage, since we will see that our current faith is solidly rooted in the “ faith once for all handed down to the holy ones.” (Jude 3.)

Acts: The Spread of the Kingdom

The Acts of the Apostles is the story of how a few Christians empowered by the Holy Spirit were chosen to bring Christ and the Good News to the ends of the earth.  This study traces how the gospel witness spread outward from Jerusalem and reveals how the seeds of Church structure and authority took root.  It shows how the joys and struggles of the early Christians in living the life of Christ apply to us today.

Acts: The Spread of the Kingdom will be offered on Tuesday mornings beginning September 9 and Wednesday mornings beginning September 10, both at 9:30 am in room 104. Matthew: The King and His Kingdom

The book of Matthew brings the history of Christ to life.  We see Jesus as the awaited Messiah who fulfills the promises and prophecies of the Old Testament, establishes the New Law, and inaugurates the kingdom of heaven.  This study explores how Jesus is challenging and empowering us to a new level of holiness and shows how we must be thoroughly immersed in the kingdom of heaven on earth, the Church, and to live following His example.

Marriage Ministry

Looking to increase the grace in your marriage and draw closer to your spouse? Would you like to capture that spark once again? Join us on the second Thursday of the month from 7-8 pm for Nativity's Marriage Ministry. This is an "at home" study offered by Grace Marriage and purchased by each couple. Couples will view a video presentation at home and meet to discuss monthly in a warm and engaging environment.
