Dear Parishioners and Friends,
A good Summertime to you! Summertime can be a great time of spiritual growth or a time of
spiritual decline! It can be a time of growing in virtue or a time of growing in vice. I hope all of us
will do what will take advantage of the wonderful season of Summer to grow spiritually by praying,
good spiritual reading, Sunday Mass, and even daily Mass for those free and able. All of the seven
capital sins consider Summer an open season to lead people into sin, and it’s one of Satan’s best
seasons for tempting people to sin and encouraging people to avoid the Lord, the Church, Sunday
Mass, daily prayer, and good spiritual reading. Our age has many spiritual dangers. It also has
many spiritual opportunities to grow in our faith, hope, and love of God and people.
